Any alteration or deviation from layout and above specifications (additions and modifications to the material, the service and the design) involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over and above the estimate. This could also delay the installation date.
Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets is committed to the terms of this service proposal. However, strikes, accidents or delays beyond our control can create certain delays. If such delays occur and the date of installation is moved, you’ll be informed and these changes will be subject to your approval.
The installation of lighting system is not offered by Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets. The customer is responsible for proper preparation prior to cabinet installation, as well as for installation of the system once the cabinets are installed. Our team can accommodate wires and lights by doing holes where necessary as per customer directions.
Specifications for wood: Just like every person in the world, each tree is unique. As it grows, a tree develops its own specific grain pattern. Minerals and other elements are absorbed by the tree and leave visible traces that are specific to each species of wood. In addition, boards made from the centre of the tree are sometimes different in shade from those made from the outer layers, thus providing a natural diversity of colors. Your hardwood doors are therefore unique. This is authenticity combined with durability, sturdiness and quality. Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets has no control on the grain and the tone of your hardwood, and all the wood products are Grade A and select.
All wood components (doors, panels, crown etc.) may wring as per humidity levels and seasons. The wood industry considers that the heating system during wintertime has a tendency to contract the wood pores leaving at time, uncovered wood and some cracking were the joints meet (seams). As for solid colours, the splitting will be more visible. This situation is inevitable and tolerated by the wood industry.
Furthermore, with the changes in weather, temperature and humidity, the swelling and retracting of your walls may cause your cabinets to be pushed from the wall or moved (most likely in fall and winter). This can result in appearance of gaps between your cabinets (or mouldings and countertops) and any adjacent surfaces. Seguin Cabinets will seal original gaps at installation. However, the customer is responsible for any subsequent application of sealant (latex) required to cover the appearance of gaps.
**ALLERGIES** Walnut wood products can be a trigger for allergy symptoms. By signing this service proposal, you release Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets and its suppliers from all responsibilities in the event of allergies or health problems for any person or animal who were in contact with walnut wood products or its dust. You knowingly acknowledge the risks and declare that you renounce to all legal actions against Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets and its suppliers.
During the installation, your countertop will be held together by seams. These seams will be fitted to the closest tolerances possible. Nevertheless, extended exposure of the joint to water or dampness will result in “lifting” of the laminate and splitting of the joint. It is important to keep the joint areas dry. Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets do not cover the expenses to replace a countertop damaged by water or humidity.
Granite countertops are made of natural stone. You can expect the seam(s) to be reasonably cut and smooth. Although, Les Armoires Seguin Cabinets do not have control on the natural aspect of the stone and the final result of the seam(s) and the color will meet reasonable expectations. Samples are small select cuts from a slab and do not exhibit all the characteristics of a color. Therefore, they do not fully represent what will be installed in your home. Natural stone countertops have colors, patterns, shapes and shades inherent and unique that change from one slab to the other. These variances do not affect the product’s quality or durability in any matter. Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets strongly recommends that you take the time to choose it by yourself, as there might be a difference between the sample and the installed countertop. Also, please note that the thickness of your granite or quartz countertop could vary from the thickness written on this services proposal of more or less 1/8’’, according to the nature of the slab.
The handling of existing countertops always includes risk of damages. These risks are present upon removal, storage and / or reinstallation. Séguin Cabinets employees and its subcontractors have the necessary expertise to perform such work. Extreme caution and greater detail will be put in the mandate entrusted to us. However, Seguin cabinets will not take responsibility in the event of breakage or damage to the countertops, such as they are, related to this work.
Please allow 10 to 15 business days for the installation of the granite countertops (after complete installation of the cabinets).
Our crown moldings and light valences, whether installed to the ceiling or not, will be recessed horizontally by 5/8″ from the cabinet boxes edge. This installation mode is applied by default. However, if you prefer otherwise, please address this concern with your designer prior to installation. Otherwise, it will be installed as per our standards.
The installation of new cabinets may require paint touch-ups on the walls and ceiling. These touch-ups are the costumer’s responsibility.
We take precautions in order to minimize particles. However, the installation process creates a certain amount of dust. This situation is out of our control. Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets is not responsible for dusting and please be advised that the interior of the cabinets need to be cleaned before the storage of food items.
Our workers are fully covered by the applicable workplace safety and insurance programs.
Before and during installation, the room in which the work will be performed must be clear of appliances, furniture etc. that could delay the installation. Seguin Cabinets also asks that owners/tenants/pets limit their visits on the installation site to a minimum for the safety and focus required during installation. Movement on the installation site creates difficulty for our staff, increases the risks of incidents and extends the installation. We thank you for your cooperation.
Your cabinets will be installed as levelled as possible, depending on the condition of the walls and ceiling.
The free space of the vanity drawers built to surround plumbing (“U” shaped design) will meet the standards of 12in X 12in centered to allow for it to close and not interrupt with the pipes. Additional charges will apply in the event that one or more modifications are required as a result of the plumbing not being completed at the time of the final measurements.
Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets is not responsible for modifications and damages caused by other trades.
PVC doors are made of thermoplastic and are not resistant to great amount of heat. Therefore, they are not covered by the warranty if they are damaged by heat.
Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets is not responsible for issues caused by changes in humidity level or temperature, water damage, careless use, natural disaster or degradation of the product due to normal use.
Additional charges will apply to costumers that, for some reason are behind schedule, and need to delay the installation and/or finishing touches. For these reasons, Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets has the right to demand the final payment even though the contract is not completed.
We strongly recommend installing your flooring prior to the arrival of the cabinets. However, we understand you may prefer to do so only once the cupboards are installed. In that case, please note that we can precut the kick plates and shoe moldings, but cannot install them before the flooring is done. A minimum fee of $432.00 + HST will be charged if a return on site is required for the installation of these items.
Any previous verbal or written agreement will be voided once the final service proposal and final layout are signed. Any details left unspecified, any alteration or deviation from the service proposal and layout involving extra costs, will be executed only upon written agreement and charged over and above the price indicated on the final signed service proposal.
The seller (Seguin Cabinets) retains ownership of the goods sold until payment in full is received from the purchaser. The purchaser is responsible for any destruction, loss or damage affecting the goods after installation and inspection.

2 year guarantee on parts and labor:
Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets guarantee that their materials are prime quality and are free of any defects for a period of two (2) years. This guarantee does not cover any damages caused by changes in humidity level or temperature, water damage, careless use, natural disaster or degradation of the product due to normal use. If necessary, Les Armoires Séguin Cabinets is committed to replace any pieces that meet the guarantee terms by an identical one, or a similar if the original is discontinued. The hardware is subject to the manufacturer’s guarantee without labor.
**In case of any discrepancy between the elements on this page and those of your service proposal, the service proposal will prevail legally.
